Job Summary
LMI Corporation is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our Research & Development team in Fenton, MI. This role focuses on product design, PCB development for embedded systems, and prototyping for advanced dimensional gauging solutions used in automotive, aerospace, and glass manufacturing.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through production in a highly collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electronic products from concept through schematic capture and PCB layout
- Develop and test prototypes (hands-on lab work required)
- Modify and improve existing products and systems
- Troubleshoot issues across analog, digital, and embedded systems
- Integrate sensors, communication interfaces, and power systems
- Support product transition from development to production
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 2+ years of electrical product design experience
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design (low-noise, high-precision)
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and firmware
- Hands-on prototyping experience (soldering, breadboarding, etc.)
- Experience with PCB schematic and layout design

- MIPI-DSI and/or MIPI-CSI PCB layout requirements
- RF communication (Bluetooth, BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi)
- C / C++ programming

- On-site role in Fenton, MI (near Flint, along US-23)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
