Position Description:
The Sr. Systems/Network Engineer will design, deploy, and manage client network infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to Windows servers/VMs, network controllers, managed switches, APs, PBX, firewalls, content filters, surveillance cameras / NVRs, door access control systems, and intercom systems. The Sr. Systems/Network Engineer will also support and troubleshoot escalated issues that our on-site support technicians may encounter, which includes complex desktop support issues. Given our breadth of clients, you must be able to quickly gain familiarity with managing and configuring network equipment from multiple manufacturers. You must have the ability to resolve problems efficiently on your own with little to no supervision. The Sr. Systems/Network Engineer needs the ability to communicate clearly with employees and clients who have varying levels of technical knowledge. Customer service skills are a must.
As a Sr. Systems/Network Engineer, you have ultimate accountability for issue resolution:
- When facing unfamiliar technology or complex bugs, you have the drive and problem-solving skill to research, test, and resolve the issue.
- High-impact, time-sensitive incidents receive your focus until client operations are safely restored.
- You take pride in seeing tough technical problems through to root-cause remediation rather than relying on temporary workarounds.
Skill Set Requirements
- At least 7 years of IT / troubleshooting experience
- Ability to setup and manage Windows Server DC, GPOs, DNS, DHCP
- Basic scripting/automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, GAM for Google Workspace, or Python) to streamline administrative tasks.
- Solid background in network management, VLAN, Subnetting, Routing
- Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies
- Understanding of Firewall NAT and Traffic rules.
- Experience administering Google Workspace and ChromeOS
- Extensive MacOS and Windows experience
- Significant general IT support experience
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify infrastructure, security, operational, and lifecycle risks before they impact client operations.
- Ability to develop and execute remediation plans for identified risks and technical debt.
- Able to efficiently prioritize and work on multiple simultaneous projects and day-to-day tasks
- Strong, Advanced Troubleshooting Skills (Ability to work through issues methodically and independently)

Preferred qualifications
- Experience supporting and managing Microsoft Hyper-V and/or Proxmox.
- Experience with vulnerability management, EDR/MDR solutions, and patch management/RMM systems
- WiFi Design & Management Experience
- Experience supporting and managing RADIUS authentication
- Microsoft 365 Administration Experience
- VoIP Support & Management Experience
- Experience with Ruckus, ICX/Brocade, Aruba, and/or Fortinet solutions
- Experience with K-12 content filtering, DNS filtering, and student safety tools (e.g., Lightspeed, Securly, GoGuardian, or Cisco Umbrella)
- Experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience.
