Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and materials handling procedures.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory and manage stock levels in the warehouse management system.
- Perform order picking tasks to fulfill customer orders with precision.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cranes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience with order picking processes and materials handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus but not mandatory.
