Job Summary
We are looking for a physically fit, hard-working warehouse worker to handle heavy manual lifting, packing, and order loading in our building materials yard and warehouse. This is an active, physically demanding, hands-on role. You will be spending your day on your feet manually picking and packing orders—ranging from small hardware and plumbing supplies to heavy lumber, plywood, drywall, and masonry blocks—and loading them onto customer vehicles and flatbed delivery trucks. You will also use a forklift to move heavy pallets and oversized materials, unload arriving vendor trucks, and keep the warehouse clean and well-organized.
If you thrive in a physically active environment, don't mind heavy lifting, and can operate (or are willing to learn) a forklift, we encourage you to apply.
Duties
- Manual Order Packing & Loading: Hand-pick customer orders and physically stack, carry, and load heavy building materials (plywood, lumber, drywall, concrete blocks, hardware, plumbing items) into delivery trucks or customer vehicles.
- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to lift, transport, and load large/heavy palletized loads onto flatbed trucks and elevated storage racks.
- Unloading & Stocking: Unload incoming shipments from vendor trucks (by hand and using forklifts) and move items to their designated shelves, yard areas, or storage racks.
- Warehouse & Yard Maintenance: Keep the building materials yard, warehouse aisles, and pickup staging areas organized, clean, and safe by sweeping, restacking materials, and tidying up stock.
- Customer Support: Work directly with customers and delivery drivers to quickly load their vehicles with the correct materials and quantities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Physical Requirements & Manual Labor:
- Heavy Lifting: Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, stack, and carry 50 to 75+ lbs of construction materials throughout the day.
- Stamina: Ability to work on your feet continuously in an indoor/outdoor warehouse environment across varying weather conditions.
Skills & Experience:
- Forklift Operation: Prior forklift experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
- Building Materials Knowledge: Prior experience working with lumber, drywall, masonry, or hardware supplies is a strong plus.
- Valid Driver’s License: Preferred, but optional.
- Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to perform heavy physical work every day.
