Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and a strong background in auto service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of automotive repair, diagnostics, and sales processes to ensure the smooth running of daily operations and the achievement of business goals.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and high-quality service delivery
- Manage a team of technicians, service advisors, and support staff, providing coaching and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement strategies for upselling services and increasing revenue through effective customer engagement
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance services meet Christian Brothers Automotive standards.
- Coordinate vehicle diagnostics, repairs, including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension, alignments, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs
- Oversee service writing, auto estimating, and ensure accurate documentation of work performed
- Maintain inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for efficient shop operation
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage cash handling procedures and maintain accurate financial records
- Stay updated on industry trends and new automotive technologies to enhance service offerings
Qualifications
- Proven shop experience as a Service Advisor with a at least 3 years of auto service management is required. Applicants without this expeirence will not be considered.
- Those candidates with excessive "Job hopping" will not be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body work
- Experience with automotive sales, auto estimating, service writing, and customer service excellence
- Mechanical knowledge coupled and experience is required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and staff alike
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records
- Automotive repair certifications or technical training are preferred
