Job Title: Automobile Mechanic Helper
Summary
Assist in the workflow process by completing such tasks as, but not limited to: greeting customers, write ups orders, shuttle driver, answering phones, appointment scheduling, cleanup of bays and exterior grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Greet customers; answer phones; transfer calls to the appropriate person; take messages and verify the person receives the message in a timely fashion.
- Schedule appointments, taking care not to under book or overbook the schedule.
- Prepare repair orders for the techs entering customers requested services.
- Maintain shop bays and storage cleanliness.
- Perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Place trash and recycling out for picked on scheduled dates.
- Assist technicians doing repairs, as needed, as long as it does not interfere with your required job duties.
- Perform all aspects of tire services.
- Verify stock deliveries for accuracy and place stock on shelves.
- Pick up parts or supplies at vendors as needed.
- Restock refreshment cart and Night Drop Box as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of vehicle systems and components.
- Previous experience in an automotive repair setting.
- Familiarity with automotive tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Basic mechanical skills and knowledge.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
