Job Title: School Counselor
Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic School Counselor to join our educational team. As a School Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance, counseling services, and creating a safe and nurturing environment for students to thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, personal, social, and career development needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify and address students' behavioral or academic concerns.
- Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that promote student success and well-being.
- Assist students in setting academic goals, exploring career pathways, and developing essential life skills.
- Provide crisis intervention and support services to students facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Organize workshops and seminars on topics such as bullying prevention, study skills, mental health awareness, and college readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, assessments, and student progress.
- Stay informed about current trends in education, child development, and counseling techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
- Certification or licensure as a School Counselor (if required by the state).
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings.
- Knowledge of theater, childcare, tutoring, daycare, childhood development, first aid, classroom management, Christian counseling is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in counseling practices.
