A hotel Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient operation of a hotel by repairing guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical systems. Key duties include conducting preventative maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), responding to work orders, performing painting/carpentry repairs, and maintaining exterior grounds. They must prioritize guest comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, kitchen, and laundry equipment to reduce downtime.
- Guest Room Repairs: Fix, replace, or repair items such as light fixtures, faucets, televisions, locks, and furniture.
- General Maintenance: Perform painting, drywall repairs, wall vinyl patching, and flooring repairs.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, including after-hours emergencies.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including pool maintenance, exterior cleaning, and adhering to health regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain logs of work orders, inventory, and completed maintenance tasks.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Generally 2+ years of experience in hotel, facility, or building maintenance.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Tools: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and holidays
- Frequently walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs or more.
- Working with tools and cleaning agents.
