Midland Tool has been servicing its customers since 1962 with the most recognized service and supplies in the industry. Midland’s customers range from some of the world’s largest contractors, industrial plants and factories, to local mechanical, electrical and steel erection.
The Driver Position:
To assist their growing business, Midland Tool is looking to hire a Driver with a Class A license that will deliver products to customers. Midland expects this individual to greet customers, ensure on-time deliveries and maintain a safe and professional attitude. The Driver will also support the Midland warehouse team by packing orders and providing support as needed. Successful Drivers will have an upbeat attitude and provide innovative solutions to meet the needs of Midland’s growing customer base.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Interacting with customers
- Deliver items to desired location
- Delivering products
- Organize trucks based upon stops being made
- Building driver routes
- Limit backtracking
- Utilize assigned equipment based upon job need
- Packing orders
- Operate hi/low
- Visually inspect the tires (i.e vehicle lights, blinkers, mirrors & windshield)
- Ensuring timely shipment of orders
- Supporting Midland’s warehouse team
- Assist customer as needed
- Growing customer relationships
- Professionally representing Midland Tool to customers
- Maintain constant communication with warehouse manager
- Be responsive to additional delivery needs
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- 1-3 years of driving experience
- The ability to sit for long periods of time while driving
- The ability to lift over 50 pounds on a regular (multiple times daily) basis
- Standing, bending, walking, and working in a manual labor role occasionally
- Ability to operate our fleet (F-650 box, M2, Flatbed Stake Body Truck)
- Enter and exit vehicle(s) by stepping and kneeling.
- Crouch and squat for pre- and post-trip inspections
- Clean driving record
- Ability to problem solve on the job
- Ability to maintain schedule flexibility to meet job needs
