Staff Position & Description
Position: Recovery Coach
Employee Classification: Exempt
Department: Women’s Ministries
Reports To: Director of Women’s Ministries
Job Statement: The purpose of this position is to be a source of both Biblical and practical support/guidance to the women of John 3:16 Mission through case management, advocacy, and relationship.
Duties:
- Screen potential clients for the residential program in coordination with the Recovery Team.
- Provide coaching and counseling to participants using evidence-based recovery approaches integrated with Christian discipleship principles.
- Oversee case management for all participants, including regular meetings to assess needs and support goal setting and problem-solving skills.
- Facilitate individual and group sessions focused on life skills, relational skills, relapse prevention, and recovery education.
- Maintain accurate participant records and documentation in Mission-approved systems, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Conduct random drug and/or alcohol testing, room inspections, and bag checks as required.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality participant care.
- Provide support, counseling, and de-escalation during difficult interactions or participant crises.
- Maintain accurate medication records for participants, assist with weekly medication box refills, and communicate with participants regarding medication changes as appropriate.
- Assist participants with external needs, including coordination with community resources and occasional transportation to appointments.
- Teach Bible studies and provide instructional coverage for classes as needed.
- Coordinate services and scheduling with outside agencies and partners.
- Contribute to program development and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations as required.
- Attend Mission meetings, trainings, and organizational functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree and experience in homeless and/or addiction issues.
- Must be a people person with Christian character.
- Must have leadership, delegation, and organizational skills.
- Must have sound judgment, objectivity, and sensitivity.
- Must show an ability to have a Godly concern for the women at the Mission and their well-being and always treat the women with dignity and respect.
- Must possess the relationship skills and spiritual maturity to carry out the duties of this job description.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills with computer skills and familiarity with current software and operating systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
