The Floor Nurse, including Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses, will provide quality care to patients in a clinic setting. Ensuring the clinic floor is running smoothly and the patients are seen timely in our holistic, multicultural, LGBTQIA, HIV & Hep C health organization.
General Duties and Responsibilities

Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding patient status and treatment plans.

Contacting/updating patients regarding visits if needed.
-
Assisting with appointments.
-
Assisting with inventory management of clinical equipment and clinical medication stock on the floor and report any needs to the Office Manager.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect patient health history.
- Administer medication, take patient vitals, perform phlebotomy, and injections for patients.

Notify patients of positive and abnormal results.

Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans.
- Handle lab specimens properly and ensure they are labeled for processing.
- Review labs and explain results to patients.

Collaborate with the lab to ensure results are reported to the state and local health departments properly.

Room patients as needed.

Receive and respond to patient emails.

Complete letters for patients to return to work.

Listens, communicates and documents simultaneously and navigates computer programs to assess, process, educate and document all information in a professional manner.

Support providers with any assigned duties, i.e., prescription refills etc.

Answer incoming patient calls.

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, as well as Electronic Medical Records.
