Independent growing group is seeking a hands on Head Chef / Executive Chef (title DOE) to lead operations at their most successful location! This is a wildly popular, successful bar & restaurant on the Eastside, with a loyal gameday clientele. They pride themselves on delivering elevated bar food, cooked fresh and made from scratch. Executive Chef Responsibilities:
- Ensure all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes and standards
- Administrative duties include ordering, receiving, quality control, food cost control, and inventory of all kitchen items
- Controlling labor costs with a focus on gameday schedules and business trends; scheduling staff as needed through both high-volume rushes and slower periods requiring lean staffing
- Proactively lead, mentor and coach the team
- Create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
- Follow established protocols and standards for all equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance via personal inspection
Executive Chef Requirements:
- 4+ years of kitchen management experience as an Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or EKM, specifically in restaurants doing 5 MIL+ in volume
- Background in scratch kitchens where food is made fresh
- Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus!
- Experience in food cost, budgetary controls, strict inventory, and labor controls
- Dedication to excellent food quality and ensuring compliance with all health and safety, and safe food handling practices
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with GM and FOH leadership
- A flexible schedule: nights, weekends, days, and holidays are required
