Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with complex wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and traumatic injuries.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans utilizing evidence-based practices and advanced techniques such as dermal fillers and esthetic laser treatments when appropriate.
- Perform procedures including suturing, debridement, dressing changes, and catheterization with precision and sterile technique.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Utilize EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and families on wound prevention strategies, medication administration, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects aimed at advancing wound care protocols and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner license with certification in wound care or related specialty preferred; experience in advanced practice provider roles required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding practices essential.
- Extensive clinical experience in acute care settings including ICU, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or trauma centers; critical care experience highly valued.
- Knowledge of complex medical procedures such as IV infusion, venipuncture, catheter care, spinal tap, gastrostomy tube feeding, and ventilator management.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, infectious disease care, pain management strategies including acute pain management techniques.
- Skilled in triage assessment and case management across diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator), behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Excellent client communication skills; ability to educate patients on complex treatment plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Additional qualifications include experience working with telehealth platforms, hospice & palliative medicine practices, Workers' compensation law understanding, and familiarity with hospital standards such as NCQA or JCAHO.

Pay: $150.00 - $450.00 per day
