Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a positive first impression
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Serve food, beverages, and cocktails efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, and specialty cocktails to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Process transactions accurately, including cash handling and sales processing through POS systems
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Provide exceptional guest relations by responding promptly to requests and resolving any concerns with professionalism
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially fine dining or high-volume settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Culinary experience or food industry background preferred; familiarity with food handling and sanitation practices essential
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and upselling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and team members to ensure smooth operations
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and sales transactions processing
- Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable is a plus; previous host/hostess or serving experience highly valued
- Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly attitude that fosters guest loyalty
