Physicians Now Urgent Care Center is a state-of-the art Newly Remodeled Fresh Start Medical Clinic in Rockville, Maryland. We are looking for Full Time Medical Assistants, Med techs, receptionists. Able to work 8 and 10 hour shifts including weekends. The Job title description and responsibilities of our Medical Assistants are listed below.
Minimum required qualifications of the Medical Assistant, Med Techs, Receptionists:
- All our Medical Assistants, Med Tech, and Receptionists perform the same functions
- We are seeking fast, friendly, reliable, and dependable Medical Assistants
- All Medical Assistants and Med techs must be patient, caring, and love to deliver exceptional customer service
- Med techs, Medical Assistants, and Receptionists must be able to type at a minimum of 40 wpm
- Must be proficient with Microsoft office, electronic health records, and other computer applications.
- Medical Assistants and Med Techs will have the unique ability to be trained on verifying patient insurance and collecting co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurances.
- Must be able to work morning, evenings, weekend, and holidays
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment
- Med techs and Medical Assistants are required to be able to multi-task all work assignments
- Able to triage patients, answer multiple phones, take patient vital signs, assist with procedures, give injections, perform phlebotomy, etc.
- Must be a self-starter
- All Medical and Med Techs are crossed trained and required to work the front desk duties as well.
Minimum Education of Medical Assistants:
- The job title of Med tech requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a minimum educational degree of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Para Medics are welcomed
Technical Skills of Med Techs, Medical Assistants, and Receptionists:
- Skillful performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures including covid testing
- Able to perform EKG, blood draw, injections, splinting
- Experience with Electronic Health Records
Responsibilities of Medical Assistants/Med techs/Receptionist:
- Our Medical Assistants/ Receptionist have the unique ability to skillfully work in both the front desk and back desk.
- Ability to perform point of service lab tests, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and to give injections.
- Ensure that exam rooms are cleaned after each patient encounter
- Assist with registering patients, verifying insurance, and verifying co pays
- Restock medical supplies
- Sterilize medical equipment and tools
- Assist provider with patient care
- Order supplies and manage inventory
- Perform general office cleanup at end of day or end of shift
Additional Preferred Qualifications of the Medical Assistants:
- Bilingual a plus
- CPR/First Aid is preferred
- Urgent Care and Emergency Room experience 2 years preferred
