The Daytime Server is responsible for providing exceptional guest service during breakfast, brunch, lunch, and/or early afternoon dining hours. This role involves taking and delivering food and beverage orders, maintaining a clean and organized dining area, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Daytime Server must be friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu to enhance the dining experience for our guests.
Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service to all guests.
Anticipate and respond to guests' needs and inquiries in a timely manner.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions about menu items.
Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system.
Ensure orders are entered correctly and communicated clearly to the kitchen staff.
Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and accurate manner.
Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the restaurant's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
Be able to make recommendations and answer guest questions about menu items.
Stay updated on menu changes, specials, and promotions.
Set up tables before service, ensuring they are clean, properly set, and presentable.
Maintain table settings throughout the meal, including refilling beverages, removing finished plates, and clearing debris.
Bus tables after guests have finished their meal.
Present checks to guests and process payments accurately using the POS system.
Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment according to established procedures.
Ensure accuracy in calculating bills and making change.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, floors, and server stations.
Complete assigned side work duties, such as restocking supplies, folding napkins, and polishing silverware.
Work collaboratively with other servers, kitchen staff, and restaurant personnel to ensure efficient service and a positive work environment.
Assist other team members as needed.
Follow all restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards.
Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or similar establishment is preferred.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Basic math skills for order taking, cash handling, and calculating bills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
