We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outpatient services, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs.
Duties
- Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and assessments of patients with psychiatric disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
- Provide ongoing management of psychiatric medications, including monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive support.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems.
- Participate in infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Stay current with best practices in emergency medicine as it relates to psychiatric care.
- Support individuals with disabilities by providing tailored mental health interventions.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with advanced practice certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Experience in outpatient mental health settings is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities.
- Proficiency in conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatments for various psychiatric conditions. (1 year experience preferred).
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
2. Advance Practice Nurse License.
3. Psychiatric - Mental Health Nursing or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification.
4. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or completed in the first 90 days of employment.
