Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Tow Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tow trucks to assist with vehicle recoveries, roadside assistance, and transportation of vehicles. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and driving skills will ensure efficient service delivery while maintaining high safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and wheel-lift models, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after towing to identify mechanical issues or damages.
- Use automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge to assess vehicle conditions during recovery or repair processes.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring proper securing techniques to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and service details.
- Manage conflict situations professionally when dealing with distressed customers or challenging roadside scenarios.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and service reports for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed or tow truck models, with a strong understanding of automotive repair procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with automotive diagnostics skills to troubleshoot vehicle issues on-site.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmissions is preferred.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures, including securing vehicles on flatbeds or trailers.
- Ability to handle conflict management situations calmly and professionally in high-pressure environments.
- Hands-on mechanic experience or background in automotive repair is highly desirable.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, load & unload vehicles, and perform manual tasks safely; forklift certification is a plus.
