About Forte3D
We build the world's first 3D-printed carbon fiber cellos and violins. Patented designs pair carbon fiber and printed structures with traditional components, creating professional-level instruments at a fraction of what comparable wooden instruments cost with all the benefits of carbon.
Our mission is to make world-class instruments accessible to every student and musician who wants one. Lauded by Yo-Yo Ma, Concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Nathan Cole, The Piano Guys Steven Sharp Nelson, and many other Grammy Award winning musicians, our instruments are played by musicians in ensembles including the Philadelphia Orchestra, and we appeared on Shark Tank in 2025. We sell direct to consumers and through retailers like Sweetwater across the US.
The design is proven and demand is real. What we need now is to scale.
The role
You'll help own the pipeline from production, operations, and the outreach that fills the order book. That means:
- Scaling production: more instruments, better consistency, lower cost per unit
- Owning supply chain, inventory, vendors, and fulfillment
- Building the systems and processes that let us grow past a founder-run workshop
- Hiring, training, and leading the production team
- Helping drive outreach — schools, conservatories, orchestras, dealers, and the education programs that get our instruments into students' hands
- Fixing whatever else is broken. You’ll be joining a small team, and the job ends where your judgment begins
You
- Hands-on manufacturing experience — you've built things yourself, not just managed people who do
- Analytical, data-driven problem solver
- Technical aptitude; 3D printing or CNC experience is a strong plus
- Generalist by disposition. Comfortable owning whatever needs owning
- Leadership ability and the ambition to grow into a COO role as we scale
- Playing cello or violin is a plus!
