We are growing very rapidly and are about to increase even that growth pace. Our rapid growth has led to our need for a hard-working, motivated person to lead our purchasing efforts. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced, small team startup environment. NOTE: candidate for this position must plan on working from our Charlestown (Boston) office at least 4 days a week.
The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in purchasing, including purchasing for a technology company (‘technology’ being meant in a broad sense, including electronics, robotics, computer hardware, bio tech, etc.)
- Experience ordering Printed Circuit Boards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Some fluency with at least one commercial ERP system
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience using the google apps family of software.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Creating and executing purchasing processes and procedures
- Assisting with receiving and shipping
- Researching and identifying preferred suppliers
- Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, negotiating purchase terms.
- Supporting engineers in finding necessary parts and materials
- Working closely with accounting
PLEASE NOTE: This is a PURCHASING position. NOT an analyst, supply chain guru, manager, or overseer. Chosen hire will be making many purchases themselves as well as developing and implementing purchasing processes. It may ultimately become a manager position as the company grows.
