Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Math Tutor to inspire students and foster a love for mathematics. In this role, you will provide engaging, personalized instruction to learners of various ages and skill levels, helping them build confidence and skill. Whether working with primary students, middle school students mastering algebra or high schoolers tackling calculus, your expertise will make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clear, engaging in-person tutoring sessions adapting to each student’s learning style and needs
- Assist students in understanding complex concepts as fundemental math to pre calculus
- Support students with coursework in specialized areas like organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics and more
- Foster a positive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics and encouraging student participation
- Track student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to maximize understanding and retention
- Maintain notes of tutoring sessions and communicate effectively with students and parents about progress and goals
Experience
- Prior teaching experience with teenagers or children in academic settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated success in tutoring or teaching math at various levels—middle school through higher education—such as in algebra, geometry, calculus, differential equations, and statistics
- Experience working with diverse learners
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to motivate students of all backgrounds
- Background in STEM fields such as physics (including physiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), biology (microbiology), is a plus
