ONYX Law Group is a personal injury firm representing accident victims across New York and New Jersey. We handle motor vehicle and commercial accident cases for people who are hurt and need to focus on getting better. We are growing fast, and we are looking for someone organized and dependable to keep our clients' medical treatment on track.
The Role
The Legal Clerk / Medical Liaison owns the medical side of every case. You make sure clients are treating, keep them on schedule for every appointment and IME, get them in front of the right specialists, and pull together the complete medical file the attorneys need to build a demand. When treatment stalls, you catch it early and fix it. You are the link between our clients, their doctors, and our legal team.
What You'll Do
- Collect and organize all medical records and bills for each client, keeping every file current and complete.
- Make sure clients attend their medical appointments — confirm dates, send reminders, and follow up when someone misses or goes quiet.
- Schedule and track Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), and coordinate with carriers on timing.
- Get clients scheduled with the right specialists and keep their course of treatment moving.
- Communicate with medical facilities and providers to request records, confirm appointments, and resolve issues.
- Spot treatment gaps early and flag any client who stops treating before the attorney needs to know.
- Keep all medical tasks, dates, and notes updated in our case-management system (CloudLex).
- Hand off a complete, demand-ready medical file to the attorney when a client finishes treatment.
What We're Looking For
- Highly organized and detail-oriented — you keep dozens of moving pieces on track without dropping any.
- Strong, friendly communicator on the phone and over email, with clients and medical offices alike.
- Reliable and proactive — you follow up before you're asked and don't let things slip.
- Comfortable working in case-management and Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel); we use CloudLex and will train you.
- Prior experience in a personal injury or medical office, or with medical records, is a strong plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus — many of our clients are Spanish-speaking.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
