SWE Sewer Solutions is seeking an experienced and dependable Construction Laborer to join our field crew.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience who is comfortable working in an active jobsite environment, takes pride in their work, follows direction well, and works effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general construction labor related to sewer, underground utility, excavation, and site work
- Assist with digging, trenching, backfilling, grading, and site preparation
- Assist with sewer and underground pipe installation, repair, and replacement
- Load, unload, move, and organize tools, materials, and equipment
- Safely use common construction hand tools and power tools
- Assist equipment operators and other crew members during excavation and installation work
- Assist with concrete, asphalt, paving, and restoration work as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Follow company safety procedures and supervisor instructions
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on construction experience required
- Experience with sewer, underground utilities, excavation, plumbing, trenching, or pipe installation strongly preferred
- Familiarity with common construction tools, materials, and jobsite procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently
- Good judgment and awareness when working around equipment, trenches, traffic, and other jobsite hazards
- Dependable, punctual, and prepared to work at the scheduled start time
- Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a crew
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Sewer installation and repair
- Underground utilities
- Pipe laying
- Excavation and trenching
- Plumbing
- Asphalt and concrete
- Backfilling and compaction
- Site preparation and restoration
- Working around excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders, and similar construction equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds or more as required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Ability to work safely on uneven terrain and around active construction equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed. Also, depending on job availability and scheduling.
