We are seeking a dedicated and energetic X-ray Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management protocols.
- Take high-quality dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment, including 3D scanners when necessary, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Manage patient records efficiently within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to promote optimal patient care.
- Educate patients on dental terminology, oral health practices, and post-treatment care instructions to foster informed decision-making.
- Support administrative duties as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and maintaining organized medical records.
Qualifications
- Valid X-ray certification recognized by state licensing boards; experience with dental x-ray procedures is essential.
- Proven proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient data and medical records.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information at all times.
- Experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental equipment operation, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain dental procedures using clear terminology suited for patients of all ages.
- Ability to work effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining aseptic technique standards.
