Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate certified Early Education Assistant Teacher to support the development and learning of young children. This role involves assisting lead teachers in implementing educational activities, managing classroom behavior, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, experience working with children, and knowledge of special education strategies. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of young learners while gaining valuable classroom experience in a supportive educational environment.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and inclusive environment conducive to learning and social development.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, including toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or disabilities.
- Implement educational activities that promote literacy education, numeracy skills, and social-emotional development.
- Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Support children during daily routines such as snack time, nap time, diapering, and outdoor play.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, curriculum development, or specialized areas like toddler and infant care.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments is preferred.
- Experience with classroom management and lesson planning is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for early childhood education programs such as Montessori or preschool curricula is advantageous.
- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families are required.
- Previous classroom experience involving behavior management techniques will be beneficial for success in this role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 21 – 25 per week
