The Wrench Truck & Trailer Repair is expanding our trailer division and we’re looking for one exceptional A-Level Master Trailer Technician to join our growing team.
We’re not looking for someone who can only replace brakes or suspension parts.
We’re looking for someone who can diagnose, repair, rebuild, fabricate, and restore virtually every type of commercial trailer on the road.

What You’ll Be Doing
· Suspension repair and replacement
· Air brake diagnostics and repair
· ABS diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
· Wheel end and bearing repairs
· Landing gear repairs
· Kingpin replacement
· Slider rail repair
· Suspension alignments
· Axle replacement and alignment
· Lighting and electrical system repair
· Roof, side panel, and door repairs
· Floor replacement and structural repairs
· Crossmember replacement
· Rear frame and underride guard repairs
· Welding and custom fabrication
· Aluminum and steel structural repairs
· Collision damage repair
· Preventive maintenance inspections
· DOT inspections

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
· 8+ years of commercial trailer repair experience
· Strong structural, mechanical, and diagnostic abilities
· Welding and fabrication experience
· Experience with aluminum and steel trailer repair
· Ability to read repair procedures and work independently
· Excellent troubleshooting skills

Join our dynamic team as a Master Trailer Technician (A-Level), where your expertise in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair will keep our fleet operating at peak performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a wide variety of trailers, heavy equipment, and industrial vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency across all operations. As a key player in our maintenance department, you will utilize your advanced mechanical skills and extensive industry knowledge to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and uphold the highest standards of vehicle care. Your dedication will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional service and maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on trailers, heavy equipment, and industrial vehicles using schematics and automotive electrical systems knowledge.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems with precision using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving Caterpillar machinery, excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers to identify root causes efficiently.
- Repair and service vehicle electrical systems, HVAC units, diesel engines, and automotive electrical components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Execute tire services including mounting, balancing, repairs, and heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using schematics and diagnostic tools; ensure compliance with safety standards such as vehicle inspection regulations and air brake certifications.
- Support equipment maintenance programs through regular inspections, preventative maintenance tasks, welding repairs, and component replacements to maximize lifespan of fleet assets.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair or industrial equipment maintenance is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in fabricating parts or components for trailers or heavy machinery using welding and fabrication skills.
- Hands-on experience operating excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other heavy equipment in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, diesel engines, and automotive electrical systems.
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex vehicle systems; ability to interpret technical manuals confidently.
- Prior experience working with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy equipment brands is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring heavy lifting and precise repairs.
