Job Summary
We are seeking a highly vigilant and disciplined Armed Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance, access control, emergency response, and conflict management. Your expertise in firearm handling, law enforcement procedures, and security protocols will be essential in safeguarding our facilities and providing exceptional customer service to visitors and staff alike. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical security checks to identify potential threats or breaches.
- Manage access control systems to verify identities, perform background checks, and authorize entry for authorized personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies by executing established emergency response procedures, including fire safety protocols, AED operation, CPR, Taser deployment, and first aid.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities with clarity and accuracy for future review.
- Perform conflict de-escalation techniques to manage disputes calmly while ensuring safety for all parties involved.
- Utilize law enforcement knowledge to coordinate with local authorities during serious incidents or investigations.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies while adhering to safety standards.
- Monitor CCTV footage continuously for suspicious activity and maintain vigilance during patrols to uphold physical security standards.
- Enforce compliance with all security regulations and company policies while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Assist in performing background checks on new hires or vendors as part of the onboarding process.
Experience
- Prior experience in security roles, preferably within law enforcement or military environments, demonstrating familiarity with surveillance techniques and physical security measures.
- Proven ability to operate access control systems, CCTV equipment, firearm handling tools such as Tasers and firearms safely and responsibly.
- Training or certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, conflict management, and emergency response procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols including incident report writing, law enforcement collaboration, and compliance with security regulations.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks and stand or walk for extended periods during patrols.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to remain calm under pressure during conflicts or emergencies.
