About the Role:
Ontario continues to invest in modern infrastructure, and at Kraftel Infrastructure Engineering, we are helping shape the roads, utilities, and public works that support thriving communities. We believe exceptional civil engineering combines technical precision with practical solutions that stand the test of time.
We are looking for a Civil Design Engineer who can take ownership of the design and development of civil infrastructure projects from concept through construction documentation. This is more than producing engineering drawings—you will play a key role in delivering projects that improve transportation networks, municipal services, and land development while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
Why Work With Us?
Meaningful Projects: From roadway improvements and utility systems to commercial and municipal developments, your work will directly contribute to infrastructure that people rely on every day.
Collaborative Engineering Culture: You'll work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, surveyors, and technical specialists who value knowledge sharing, innovation, and practical problem-solving.
Modern Engineering Tools: We leverage industry-standard technologies including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS applications, and advanced engineering software to streamline design workflows and improve project delivery.
Professional Growth: We encourage continuous learning through technical training, professional development opportunities, engineering seminars, and support toward professional licensure and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Civil Infrastructure Design: Prepare engineering designs for site development, grading, stormwater management, roadway geometry, utility systems, and municipal infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards.
Construction Documentation: Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, technical calculations, and construction packages that support successful project execution.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, environmental consultants, architects, contractors, surveyors, and public agencies to ensure designs meet project objectives, schedules, and regulatory requirements.
Engineering Analysis: Perform grading, drainage, hydraulic, hydrologic, and utility analyses to develop safe, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Quality Assurance: Review engineering documents for technical accuracy, constructability, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company quality standards before project submission.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: 4+ years of experience in civil engineering design involving municipal infrastructure, transportation, land development, or public works projects.
Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience preparing engineering plans, profiles, grading designs, utility layouts, and construction documentation.
Engineering Knowledge: Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, local design standards, stormwater management practices, roadway design, and utility coordination.
Communication Skills: Able to communicate technical concepts clearly with clients, project stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Mindset: You are detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive. You enjoy solving engineering challenges, continuously improving design quality, and delivering infrastructure projects that create lasting value for communities.
