REPORTS TO: Director of Youth and Engagement
The Training and Engagement Specialist leads the organization’s community engagement, training, and advocacy initiatives to strengthen awareness, build partnerships, and expand impact across Tennessee. This role designs, delivers, and evaluates community-focused, trauma informed training programs, leads public education efforts, and develops outreach initiatives to empower stakeholders and promote survivor-centered advocacy.
The Training and Engagement Specialist is the primary lead for all community-facing engagement and training activities, ensuring programs are trauma-informed, ethical, and aligned with the organization’s mission and values.

Oversee agency training requests including with frontline professionals, community partners, and the general public.

Design, implement, and evaluate training programs for diverse audiences, including frontline professionals, community partners, schools, faith partners and the general public.

Create and maintain updated training materials and presentations.

Create instructional materials, such as presentations, toolkits, and handouts, to support training sessions.

Coordinate awareness events such as setting up information tables at fairs, mission moments, and other outreach opportunities to increase AncoraTN’s visibility to the public.

Facilitate workshops, webinars, and inperson training sessions to build skills and knowledge in antihuman trafficking or vulnerable populations communities focused on human trafficking, traumainformed care, ethical storytelling, prevention strategies and addressing demand.

Facilitate internal staff training, including onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Monitor and evaluate training and engagement initiatives to measure impact and outcomes.

Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure engagement initiatives support organizational goals, and all external branding is approved and aligned.

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align training and engagement goals with overall programs and organizational strategy.

Maintain records and dashboards related to training participation, outreach, and program outcomes.

Prepare reports, case studies, and success stories to highlight program achievements for leadership, funders, and external stakeholders.

Conduct outreach to engage underrepresented or underserved communities.

Represent the organization at conferences, community events, coalitions, and public forums to promote training and engagement initiatives.

Build and maintain relationships with community partners, LE agencies, DCS, TDOC, DOE, Health Care providers, faithbased organizations, schools, service providers, and civic groups.

Act as a subject matter expert and resource for stakeholders seeking guidance on training or advocacy efforts.

Coordinate community events, resource fairs, and public education initiatives to raise the organization’s visibility and impact.

Promote survivorcentered, traumainformed, messaging in all public communications.

Support ethical storytelling initiatives, including blogs, public content, or speaking engagements in coordination with the development and Marketing team.

All positions at AncoraTN interact with survivors of human trafficking from day to day. This issue is sensitive and complex. Every employee is trained in trauma-informed and strength-based approaches in order to connect with and build appropriate and encouraging relationships with survivors. The position is primarily community-based field work and quires regular engagement with partners and stakeholders throughout Middle Tennessee. Work is carried out in a variety of settings including office, community, and partner locations with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, driving, and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone, and engaged in face-to-face interaction with staff and community partners. Regular car travel throughout Middle Tennessee and use of a personal vehicle is required. While this position offers some flexibility to complete administrative tasks remotely as well as virtual trainings after office hours, the majority of work is conducted in the community. This position is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days a week in the office, with additional time spent in the field supporting community engagement, partnership development, and program activities. Remote work is limited and intended primarily for administrative responsibilities; candidates should expect to spend the majority of their time working in the community, facilitating training’s, building partnerships, and engaging with stakeholders in person.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, education, social work, public policy, or a related field required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience training, community engagement, public education, program development, or a related area.

Proven experience facilitating training and building capacity in diverse communities.

Experience leading collaborative initiatives.

Excellent facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Deep understanding of traumainformed principles and survivorcentered engagement practices.

Full-time, typically Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, flexibility is required and must be willing to work some evenings and weekend hours, as needed to meet the needs of the role. Some travel may be required. This position will require being in the community on a regular basis.
Base Salary: $54,000-$60,000 annually based on education and experience.
