A Specialty Clinic That Fits Around Your Life. Part Time and Full Time Available.
Whether you are looking for a part time that fits around your existing commitments or a full time home where you can build a specialty career, we have a position for you.
We are Sensory Therapeutics of NJ, a specialty pediatric and adult occupational therapy practice with over 6 years of experience in West Caldwell, NJ. We specialize in sensory integration, primitive reflex integration, neurodevelopmental treatment, and low level laser therapy using the Avant lasers. Our approach is whole body, root cause, and deeply relationship centered.
We are currently hiring for one to two part time positions and one full time position to join our clinical team.
This Is Not a High Volume Clinic. We Mean That.
If you have worked in a pediatric chain clinic where you see back to back children for 8 to 10 hours with no documentation time, no mentorship, and a supervisor you never see, you already know what burnout feels like. We built Sensory Therapeutics of NJ to be the opposite of that.
The majority of session run Monday through Friday between 3:30 PM and 6:45 PM at the latest. Your mornings are flexible. You are not walking into a back to back marathon from the moment you arrive. You are walking into a structured specialty caseload in a supportive environment where your clinical reasoning is genuinely valued.
Part Time Position
This role is ideal for an experienced therapist who loves specialty sensory OT but needs flexibility around a full time school position, another role, or family commitments during the day. You are not a fill-in here. You are a valued member of a clinical team.
What the part time position includes:
- Competitive hourly rate of $75 to $80 per hour based on experience and credentials
- Paid time for note writing
- Afternoon and early evening sessions running Monday through Friday between 3:30 PM and 6:45 PM at the latest, & saturdays 9-1 which works well alongside a full time school position
- Flexible on the number of days per week based on what fits your schedule
- Weekly clinical mentorship with clinical supervisor
- Exposure to low level laser therapy and photobiomodulation with training provided if interested
- A welcoming supportive team environment where your expertise is genuinely valued
- A clear path to full time with no waiting period if that ever becomes of interest to you
- Physical Agent Modalities certification is a significant plus and reflected in hourly rate
Full Time Position
The full time role is a direct replacement for a departing therapist with an established caseload of 25 clients ready and waiting from day one. No ramp up period. No building from scratch. You are treating from your first session.
What the full time position includes:
- Base salary of $70,000 to $80,000 per year based on experience and credentials
- Monthly productivity bonus of up to $500
- Health insurance covered 100% by the practice, approximately $7,200 in annual value at no cost to you
- 13 days PTO per year usable for sick or personal time
- 3% SIMPLE IRA employer match after 1 year of employment
- One advanced clinical training or certification course covered per year
- Weekly one on one clinical mentorship with Dr. Galo Aguayo, OTD, OTR/L
- Structured three phase laser therapy training pathway with a laser program stipend
- Six month formal compensation review with a clear written path to salary increase
- Total compensation package valued at over $100,000 annually when all components are included
What Makes This Practice Different Regardless of Which Option You Choose
Your caseload is built around your clinical interests including complex presentations such as CP, genetic conditions, autism, sensory processing disorders, and primitive reflex retention. You have 48 hours after each session to complete your notes, not point of service documentation under pressure. You are capped at a maximum of seven clients per day. And you have direct access to clinic leadership every single week through formal mentorship that is actually scheduled and actually happens.
We also offer something most clinics cannot. The opportunity to grow into our low level laser therapy program, one of the most exciting and differentiated clinical offerings in pediatric OT today. Whether you join us full time or part time you will be exposed to a clinical model that most OTs in NJ have never encountered.
What We Are Looking For
- Valid New Jersey OTR/L license required
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of pediatric OT experience, specialty sensory or neurodevelopmental clinic experience strongly preferred
- Experience with or strong interest in sensory integration, primitive reflex integration, or neurodevelopmental approaches
- Familiarity with Star Institute approach, reflex integration, Sensory Pyramid framework, or similar models is a strong plus
- Experience completing evaluations using standardized tools such as the Sensory Profile, SPM-2, BOT-3, Beery VMI, or Vineland
- Strong documentation skills with ability to complete notes within 48 hours of each session
- Warm relationship centered communication style with children and families
- Physical Agent Modalities certification is a significant plus but not required
- OTD or advanced credentials welcome and reflected in compensation
