Position Summary
The Campground Attendant serves as a guest services and oversight presence within the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds Campground during the summer season. This position supports camper check-in and payment processing, maintains a visible and welcoming presence, and assists in upholding campground policies, including quiet hours. The Campground Host works collaboratively with Facility staff to ensure a safe, organized, and positive experience for all guests.
Duties
- Guest Services & Check-In
- Greet campers and verify reservations.
Campground Oversight
- Monitor assigned areas during scheduled shifts.
- Ensure campers occupy assigned sites.
- Uphold quiet hours and campground rules in a professional manner.
- Address minor issues diplomatically and escalate concerns as appropriate.
Reporting & Documentation
- Document incidents, disturbances, and rule violations.
- Report maintenance issues promptly to Facilities Management.
- Maintain accurate daily check-in and payment records.
Operational Support
- Assist with basic signage updates and campground communications.
- Support Fair week operational needs as directed.
- Process payments and issue receipts in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with late arrivals and site assignments.
- Provide information regarding campground amenities and Fairgrounds policies.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable handling payments and basic recordkeeping.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations.
- Reliable and self-directed.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during Fair week.
Preferred:
- Hospitality, campground, event, or customer service experience.
Physical & Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor work.
- Ability to walk the campground regularly during shifts.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Light custodial duties required.
Authority & Safety
Campground Attendants do not serve as law enforcement and are not expected to intervene in unsafe situations. Attendants are responsible for observing, documenting, and escalating concerns to the appropriate authority or supervisor.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
