We are seeking a motivated and dependable Custodian/Bus Driver to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including school buses, paratransit vans, and other commercial vehicles to transport students, seniors, or individuals with special needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical functionality, and cleanliness.
- Maintain clear communication with passengers, staff, and dispatchers using effective verbal skills in English or multilingual formats as needed.
- Assist children or seniors with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations diligently while driving in diverse conditions.
- Perform custodial duties such as cleaning bus interiors, maintaining cleanliness of transportation facilities, and ensuring the environment is hygienic.
- Manage behavior on board through positive behavior management techniques to promote a respectful atmosphere.
- Keep accurate logs of trips, mileage, maintenance issues, and passenger counts for reporting purposes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger questions or concerns professionally and courteously.
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., <PERSON> driver license).
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse communities.
- Knowledge of driving regulations related to school bus driving, paratransit services, or senior transportation.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Experience working with children or seniors, demonstrating patience and excellent childcare or senior care skills.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively in a diverse group setting using behavior management techniques.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward passengers of all ages.
- Basic writing skills for completing reports, logs, and documentation accurately.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
