Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Security and Access Control Technicians for a large-scale data center project in Afton, Texas.
$120 per day in per diem for lodging and expenses
This role will focus on the installation of CCTV, access control, and other low-voltage security devices. Technicians will work under the direction of an onsite lead who will assign daily tasks, provide project guidance, and ensure work is completed according to site standards.
Responsibilities
- Install and mount CCTV cameras.
- Install card readers, door contacts, and door position switches.
- Install Request-to-Exit devices and motion sensors.
- Install electric strikes and magnetic locks.
- Mount and install access control panels and associated field devices.
- Install additional low-voltage security hardware as assigned.
- Follow project drawings, installation instructions, and onsite direction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with all site safety, security, and badging requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial access control, CCTV, or low-voltage security experience.
- Hands-on experience installing security field devices.
- Familiarity with card readers, REX devices, electric strikes, mag locks, door contacts, and access control panels.
- Experience working in a data center or similar mission-critical environment is preferred.
- Ability to work safely and follow direct instruction.
- Reliable transportation to the job site.
- OSHA 10 certification required or obtainable before the start date.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Tools and PPE
Technicians must provide:
- Basic low-voltage and security installation tools
- Composite-toe safety boots
- Type 2 hard hat
- High-visibility safety vest
- Safety goggles
- Electrical-resistant work gloves
Additional glove requirements may be provided before the project begins.
Schedule and Orientation
The regular start time is 8:30 AM.
Technicians who are new to the project must attend a first-day orientation at approximately 6:15 AM.
Anyone who has previously worked on this data center project should disclose that during the interview. Returning technicians may require re-badging but may not need to repeat orientation.
