In addition, the faculty member will fulfill all regular duties and commitments required of CCSC staff.An English Language (EL) teacher can expect to: Teach ESL classes at the Transitional and Foundational levelsTeach ESL classes for SLIFE students Design and implement WIDA and Common Core based curriculum and lesson plans for Transitional and Foundational studentsWork with general education teachers to support the creation of appropriate sheltering for EL studentsWrite quarterly progress reports on achievement of WIDA standards and English Language proficiency based on individual student goals Participate in school-wide data day by assessing EL performance data Continually develop the ESL curriculum to meet changing student needs and external and internal requirementsAdminister ACCESS and other EL-related screenings and assessments as assignedParticipate in the Student Support Team and Instructional Leadership Team when requestedQualifications: Mass. certification in ESL grades 512Knowledge of methods and materials for teaching ELsExperience developing curriculum for English LearnersMasters degree in ESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related field preferredCompensationSalaries on CCSCs teacher salary schedule are based on number of years of experience and education level, with up to 5 full years of full-time, lead-teaching experience at U.S.
