Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures.
- Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
- Support the serving staff during peak hours by preparing garnishes and side dishes.
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation processes.
- Familiarity with food service operations and restaurant experience is a plus.
- Proficient knife skills and understanding of various cooking methods.
