Driver & Family Property Assistant (Part-Time | Companion Support Role)
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and highly dependable Driver & Family Assistant to support a private client who is aging at home. This role combines transportation, companionship, cleaning, housekeeping, daily meal prep, pet care, medication refill mgmt, and ocassional basic weekly lawn mowing assistance in a nice farm and family home environment.

Schedule - 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 10 am to 2 pm.
Salary - $20/hr and vehicle gas provided as needed and utilized to drive client. - Position is W2 Household Employee Role paid bi-weekly via direct deposit
Note - there will be some days and times when the client does not choose to drive anywhere and when the house is already tidy and clean. On these days the pace of work would shift to slower companion work and maybe watching a movie together, gardening or making cookies in the kitchen or just keeping up with laundry etc.
Responsibilities
- Daily clean up of 1st floor of home: laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, light mop of kitchen floor, putting clothes away and basic home organization.
- Daily prep of breakfast and lunch.
- Managing groceries and grocery purchase lists and household supply inventories.
- Managing client's personal appointment calendar to include medical appts on the home laptop/family gmail calendar.
- Drive and accompany client to the local gym and senior center , medical appointments ( (near Hall Rd), occasional shopping, visiting local friends or social and church outings, out to eat at restaurants and browsing at local antique shops.
- Provide companionship and emotional and organizational support to client.
- As needed, provide secretarial assistance, weekly errands for the family including pet care and picking up mail or prescriptions.
- Provide technical support to client - tv streaming, playing music, using remotes, reading and sending email and internet searches.
- Charging security camera batteries and checking wifi connections.
- Making sure the garbage bins goes out and are returned weekly for trash pick up.
- Provide assistance to client with organization or her home projects like gardening.
- Communicate with family on status of client, home and projects or plans.
- Provide basic weekly lawn mowing of the front yard (takes 1.5 hr on the seated lawn mower), picking up of any small tree sticks from the tree, clearing off small patio with leaf blower.
- help the client choose outfits to dress daily and blow dry hair weekly after showering.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass randomly timed drug test twice yearly
- Job requires texting frequently and to download WhatsApp on personal cell phone for communication with family.
- Outings will include church events so role requires person to be comfortable in this setting
- Valid driver's license, reliable, safe, clean and comfortable transportation, clean driving record, active and full insurance coverage.
- Must be able to operate GPS for driving directions and Google location addresses to avoid texting and phone use while driving the client.
- Must pass a background check and have two local references (personal and professional)
- Experience as a caregiver is preferred but not required
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from family members
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be comfortable with email and texting from personal cell phone each day.
- Ability to operate a seated lawn mower and refill it with provided fuel.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
- Must reside within 20 minute commute to Riley Twp
- Signing a Non-disclosure privacy agreement, and Agreement to Arbitrate is required for position
