American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience including at least 1 year of CVICU experience.

30-bed CVICU unit within a 933-bed Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI

Patient population includes immediate post-op cardiac surgeries (CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacements, heart transplants, epicardial and transvenous pacemakers), thoracic surgeries (esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, lobectomy), and vascular surgeries (AAA, TVAR, carotid endarterectomy)

Patient ratios: 1:1 for complex cases, 1:2 for regular ICU status, 1:3 for mixed status; tech ratio 1:8–10

12-hour night shifts, 1900–0700, 36 hours per week

Weekend rotation every third weekend

Floating may be required to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU (1:3 ratio), Sitter, or PACU Surge

No on-call responsibilities

EMR: Epic (experience required)

Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors

Active WI RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
-
Minimum 3 years of ICU experience, including at least 1 year of CVICU experience, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Competency in invasive line monitoring (Swan-Ganz, A-lines), epicardial and transvenous pacemakers, chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation

Epic EMR experience required

CV surgical experience with ECMO, CVVH, IABP, or VAD preferred

Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year
-
Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Dedicated 24/7 support includes a CVICU Intensivist, CT Surgeon on call, Hospitalist, General Intensivist, ICU Respiratory Therapist, Charge Nurse, and HUC
-
RNs may draw labs from invasive lines; peripheral blood draws are handled by phlebotomy

Bedside and nurses' station telemetry monitoring available; no dedicated tele tech

Orientation consists of 1 day: 2–4 hours of new employee orientation (NEO) followed by unit time with a preceptor
-
6-week scheduling cycles; schedule typically provided 1–2 weeks before the cycle begins
-
Facility adheres to a fatigue policy: no more than 60 hours worked per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts

1–2 holidays required per contract

RTO of up to 7 days may be approved

Scrubs must be a solid color; no graphics, logos, or designs
