American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of MRI experience for a 13-week assignment supporting a mixed acute and outpatient patient population.

Hospital-based MRI department with 1 imaging room
-
64-bed facility with no trauma designation
-
Patient population includes adults and older pediatric patients (typically 10 years and older) across outpatient, inpatient, ED, ICU, and MedSurg settings
-
Cases include neuro (strokes), soft tissue injuries, head/neck/spine, hips, oncology, extremities, joints, abdominal, breast, prostate, and some angiograms
-
No vented, monitored, cardiac, sedation, or pacemaker patients
-
Average of 12-16 patients per day
-
Uses Cerner EMR and Agfa PACS
-
Equipment includes a 1.5 Tesla Philips Ingenia Ambition MRI scanner
-
4x10 hour shifts, 36 hours per week on a variable schedule rotating between Monday-Thursday and Tuesday-Friday
-
No weekend rotation or on-call requirements
-
No floating required
-
Facility is closed for major holidays

Minimum of 2 years MRI experience, including a mix of acute and outpatient settings

Current BLS certification
-
ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
-
Compact or Maine state license required (license required if applicable)

Experience with IV starts
-
Strong communication and multitasking skills with the ability to work independently and produce high-quality images

Philips MRI equipment experience preferred but not required
-
Support available on-site includes Lead Techs in other modalities, Manager/Supervisor, Rapid Response/Code Team, RRT, and Hospitalist/ER physicians 24/7
-
Radiologists on-site Wednesday and Thursday, with remote reading coverage during standard business hours and after-hours by a separate group

No dedicated transporter for the department; inpatient staff typically bring patients, though some transport by tech may be required

First week includes orientation (NEO)

RTO requests must be approved through the manager
-
Scrub color must be a solid, professional color with no graphics, logos, or designs
-
