Position Summary
Hampton Inn & Suites Longview North is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Hotel Houseman/Housewoman to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the hotel property.
This is a hands-on position with a primary focus on the exterior of the hotel and property, along with additional cleaning, upkeep, and operational tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, notices when something needs attention, follows through on assigned tasks, and can work independently without constant supervision.
This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
Primary ResponsibilitiesExterior Property Care
- Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel exterior and surrounding property.
- Walk the property regularly and pick up trash, cigarette butts, leaves, debris, and other litter.
- Empty exterior trash cans and replace liners as needed.
- Keep sidewalks, entrances, curbs, parking areas, and other exterior spaces clean and presentable.
- Clean exterior windows and glass doors.
- Power wash sidewalks, entrances, patios, and other exterior surfaces as assigned.
- Sweep exterior walkways, entrances, and other areas.
- Clean and maintain outdoor furniture and guest areas.
- Keep the hotel entrance and surrounding areas clean and welcoming.
- Remove cobwebs, dirt, buildup, and debris from exterior surfaces.
- Monitor exterior areas for cleanliness throughout the shift rather than completing an area once and ignoring it for the remainder of the day.
- Report property damage, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, lighting issues, or other problems to management promptly.
General Hotel Support
Depending on the needs of the hotel, additional responsibilities may include:
- Assist with moving or organizing hotel supplies.
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries.
- Move tables, chairs, or other hotel equipment as needed.
- Assist with meeting room setup and breakdown.
- Clean or organize storage areas.
- Assist with trash removal throughout the property.
- Help maintain cleanliness in employee and back-of-house areas.
- Assist with basic cleaning projects and deep-cleaning assignments.
- Assist other departments with reasonable operational tasks when needed.
- Complete special projects assigned by management.

Outdoor & Physical Requirements
This is a physically active position. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and other normal seasonal conditions.
The position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, turn, reach, push, and pull.
- Climb stairs and move throughout the hotel property.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Push and pull carts, trash containers, equipment, and supplies.
- Safely use cleaning equipment, including power-washing equipment when assigned.
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Attendance & Reliability
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
The Hotel Houseman/Housewoman plays an important role in maintaining the appearance and operation of the property. Employees are expected to report to work on time, ready to work, and for every scheduled shift.
Employees are also expected to communicate promptly with management regarding attendance concerns and follow all hotel call-in and attendance procedures.

Qualifications
- Previous hotel, janitorial, custodial, maintenance, landscaping, or similar experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good time-management and organizational skills.
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
