Responsibilities

- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure hygiene and sanitation standards are met
- Support food presentation by slicing, portioning, and garnishing dishes with precision
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas through regular cleaning routines
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and address any issues promptly
- Contribute to menu planning efforts by providing input on recipes and ingredient selection when needed
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including slicing, cooking, and plating
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff
- Experience with food handling, meal preparation, and catering is advantageous
- Demonstrated knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep
- Knowledge of recipe adherence to ensure consistency in meal quality
- Background in restaurant or food industry settings is beneficial for understanding high-volume food service operations
