Machine Designer
Location: Toledo, OH
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating custom mechanical designs in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design custom machinery and mechanical equipment using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical engineering, and project management teams throughout the design process
- Modify and improve existing machine designs based on customer or production requirements
- Ensure designs meet company standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during fabrication and assembly
- Assist with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 5+ years of machine design experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks (experience with both is a plus)
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, and machine components
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and customer requirements
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing custom automation or industrial machinery
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and motion control systems
- Familiarity with machining, welding, and manufacturing processes
- Experience working in a project-based engineering environment
