Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to provide hands-on technical support across production operations. This individual contributor role requires a self-directed professional who can operate independently across equipment commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and process documentation — with no direct reports. Qualified candidates will bring deep familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments and the mechanical and electrical acuity to maintain equipment to specification in a fast-paced production setting.
Core Responsibilities
Equipment Operations & Commissioning
- Inspect, prepare, and test stand-alone and integrated production equipment to ensure full functionality and compliance with performance specifications
- Commission new testing and production equipment, including setup, verification, and acceptance testing
- Complete repairs and adjustments to manufacturer standards, maintaining electrical safety requirements throughout
Calibration & Quality Compliance
- Oversee and execute calibration procedures and protocols across assigned equipment
- Identify and document mis-calibrated, damaged, or out-of-specification equipment
- Report all nonconformances in accordance with the company ISO Quality Management Plan
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain equipment and process Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and performance specifications
- Identify and implement recommendations to improve efficiency, throughput, safety, and cost-effectiveness
- Read, interpret, and apply machine drawings and electrical panel layouts in day-to-day operations
Production Support & Reporting
- Assess and report on manufacturing throughput, bottlenecks, operational efficiency, and waste
- Communicate and coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve equipment and process issues
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing technician experience in food packaging, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or medical device production
- Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical wiring, connections, and panel layouts — ability to safely troubleshoot general electrical and power issues
- Developed mechanical aptitude with experience across a range of manufacturing systems and production practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting machine drawings and technical documentation
- Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems and regulated manufacturing compliance requirements
- Experience authoring or maintaining SOPs in a production environment
- Effective cross-functional communication skills; ability to coordinate with engineering, quality, and operations personnel and clearly convey equipment status, findings, and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training, technical certification, or associate degree in a manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical discipline
- Experience commissioning new production or testing equipment
- Background in calibration management and metrology
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)
- Ability to interpret PLC logic or basic automation schematics is a plus
