Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D plumbing and piping models using Autodesk Revit based on construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Create accurate plumbing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and spool drawings.
- Perform BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks and coordinate plumbing systems with HVAC, electrical, structural, and architectural trades.
- Review design drawings and identify constructability issues, conflicts, missing information, and potential installation problems.
- Coordinate directly with general contractors, plumbing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, project managers, and field personnel.
- Participate in BIM/VDC coordination meetings and help resolve clashes and field coordination issues.
- Develop constructible plumbing layouts for commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate domestic water, sanitary, storm, vent, gas, and other commercial plumbing systems as applicable.
- Interpret and work from MEP drawings, architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Prepare and revise drawings based on RFIs, redlines, field conditions, design changes, and coordination requirements.
- Support fabrication and field installation teams by providing accurate models and detailed drawings.
- Review models and drawings for accuracy, constructability, dimensions, elevations, clearances, and trade coordination.
- Work with subcontractors and contractors to resolve modeling and installation conflicts.
- Maintain project BIM/VDC standards and ensure drawings and models are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Provide technical support to project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field teams when required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Plumbing, Piping, BIM, VDC, Plumbing Design, Plumbing Detailing, or a closely related field.
- Strong commercial plumbing construction experience.
- Strong understanding of plumbing and piping systems and installation practices.
- Advanced working knowledge of Autodesk Revit for plumbing/BIM modeling.
- Strong working knowledge of Navisworks Manage for coordination and clash detection.
- Proven experience creating plumbing shop drawings and spool drawings.
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, plumbing contractors, project managers, and field personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP, architectural, structural, plumbing, and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction workflows, coordination, RFIs, submittals, and field installation.
- Ability to identify clashes and develop practical, constructible solutions.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple project deliverables and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plumbing contractor or mechanical contractor experience.
- Previous experience as a Plumbing BIM Detailer, Plumbing Designer, VDC Specialist, BIM Coordinator, Plumbing Detailer, or Plumbing Project Coordinator.
- Field experience in commercial plumbing or piping.
- Experience with Autodesk Fabrication / CADmep.
- Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience producing fabrication-ready models and drawings.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, institutional, or multifamily projects.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
