Role Overview
This is a working lead position for an experienced HVAC professional who wants more ownership in the field.
You will lead a crew to install and commission systems, mentor developing technicians, and ensure every project meets code, manufacturer specifications, and internal quality standards.
This role is best suited for someone who:

What You Will Be Responsible For
Field Leadership
- Lead a crew (typically 2–3 technicians).
- Set the pace, organization, and quality standard on each job.
- Train technicians on proper installation techniques and safe work practices.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently without sacrificing quality.
Technical Installation & Service
· Install and service heat pumps (cold-climate and inverter driven), mini-splits, furnaces, boilers, air handlers, and air conditioning systems.
- Perform pressure testing, evacuation, charging, and startup.
- Commission systems and verify airflow, superheat, and subcooling.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, refrigerant, and electrical issues.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and technical documents.
Code & Refrigerant Compliance
- Stay current with mechanical codes and refrigerant standards.
- Perform refrigerant recovery and reclaim properly.
- Ensure installations meet all safety and environmental requirements.
Documentation & Professionalism
- Complete digital job documentation, photos, and commissioning records.
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional jobsite.
What We Expect
· 4+ years of residential HVAC installation and service experience.
· Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
· Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
· Professional communication and customer interaction.
· Clean driving record.
· Must pass background and drug screening.
Required Credentials
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Additional required state or municipal HVAC licensing (preferred).
Preferred (Strong Plus)
- Formal HVAC trade school or technical training.
- Manufacturer training (LG, Mitsubishi, Daikin, etc.).
- NATE certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
- Leadership and mentoring experience.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and maneuver equipment up to 50–75 lbs.
- Work on ladders, rooftops, crawlspaces, attics, and basements.
- Work year-round in Wisconsin weather conditions.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
