Position Summary:
The Development and Communications Manager provides strategic leadership for the organization’s fundraising, marketing, communications, and donor engagement efforts. This role is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive development strategies to secure financial and in-kind support through individual giving, grants, corporate partnerships, and special initiatives.
The position also oversees the organization’s communications and marketing functions, including brand management, digital presence, and community outreach, to strengthen public awareness and engagement. Central to this role is the effective management of the organization’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support data-driven decision-making, donor stewardship, and fundraising performance.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to Clubhouse members in a positive manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of HOPE Clubhouse.
· Ensures and always maintains confidentiality.
· Leads, supervises, attends, and/or participates in morning meetings, house meetings, and unit meetings.
· Participate in International Clubhouse Colleague Training in the Clubhouse Model, as decided by Clubhouse leadership.
· Demonstrates openness and flexibility in adapting to organizational changes.
· Meet all agency, program, contract, and grant policies, reporting schedules, and budgets.
· Participates in activities both within HOPE Clubhouse and the community to increase awareness about the Clubhouse and build community relationships.
Fund Development & Strategy:
- Collaborate with the CEO and Program Director to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities.
- Ensure all development activities adhere to ethical fundraising principles and best practices.
- Monitor community trends and adjust fundraising strategies to maximize opportunities.
- Develop and manage timelines for fundraising initiatives to ensure timely execution of key activities.
Donor Relations, CRM & Administration:
- Oversee the management and optimization of the organization’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track donor engagement, contributions, and communications.
- Ensure data integrity through regular audits, updates, and adherence to data entry standards and protocols.
- Generate reports and analytics from the CRM to inform fundraising strategies, donor segmentation, and outreach efforts.
- Manage donor databases and mailing lists, ensuring accuracy, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising performance, including progress toward goals, budgets, revenue, and expenses.
Marketing, Communications & Social Media:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing plan to increase public awareness, donor engagement, and community participation.
- Manage the organization’s social media presence, including content planning, creation, scheduling, and performance tracking across platforms.
- Create compelling digital and print content (e.g., newsletters, email campaigns, press releases, website updates) that aligns with the organization’s brand and voice.
- Monitor and analyze marketing and social media metrics to evaluate effectiveness and guide strategy adjustments.
- Oversee the design, production, and distribution of marketing and promotional materials.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
Community Engagement & Resource Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, partners, and supporters to advance the organization’s mission.
- Assist in grant writing and other resource development activities.
- Represent the organization at community events and outreach opportunities to increase awareness and support.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment and Education Coordinators, members, contractors, vendors, volunteers, interns

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Master’s level practitioner: Masters in Business, Marketing, Social Work (MSW) or related field preferred, OR Bachelors in Business, Marketing, or Social Work or related field.
May consider a Bachelor’s degree that is mental health or education related with a minimum of 5 years human/social service experience working with individuals of varying abilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence, reports, business correspondence, and a variety of “how-to” documents. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of other organizations. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic accounting.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
“Microsoft Office”, database software, employment applicant tracking/talent acquisition software, internet navigation, remote delivery (Zoom, Skype, etc.) and standard office equipment skills required; Digital Design experience (ex: publisher or Canva) preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand/walk/sit/use hands to finger, handle or feel/reach with hands and arms/climb or balance/stoop, kneel, crouch, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. No special vision requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certificates, Licenses, Skills, Special Machines):
Must have dependable transportation, valid Florida Driver’s License, and Insurance, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a level 2 background check. If professionally licensed, must maintain active status.
