High end Japanese fusion restaurant is looking for dishwasher/porters. Ideal candidates are hardworking, organized, and efficient team players who are versatile and able to adjust to the needs of the restaurant and help other back of house positions as needed. The ability to work well under the pressure of a high volume, fast paced kitchen is a must.
Dishwasher/Porters are responsible for performing the day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation standards at the restaurant.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Maintaining common room areas, wash and clean pots, pans, plate-ware, glassware and cooking equipment.
- Keep the dish room, bathrooms, kitchen and prep area and equipment clean and organized.
- Load, run and unload dish machine.
- Keep the dish machine & sinks clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
- Monitor dish machine & sink water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Wash and store all kitchenware, baskets, and crates. Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies. Properly label, replenish and store chemicals.
- Use the proper chemicals for each job while maintain safety for yourself and those around you.
- Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designed times.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen as directed by the manager or immediate supervisor.
- Restaurant business needs varies and flexibility in schedule with the ability to work early mornings, weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime is required.
Requirements:
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules
- The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment
- Able to stand for long periods of time (8+ hours)
- Able to walk up and down stairs
- Able to carry up to ~50lbs
- Able to push/pull/open doors
- Able to bend, squat and lean down
