Loma Linda Academy Children’s Center provides Seventh-day Adventist principles and safe nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Our mission is “Play to Learn. Discover God’s love. Grow Together.”
We are recruiting a part time Preschool Teacher to be able to promote children’s socio-emotional development, spiritual and mental health, and prepare them for school readiness. A preschool teacher must have great love and patience for children, and understand the science behind "play to learn" curriculum. The ideal teacher will have the ability to anticipate a child’s needs, and be a self-starter.
Responsibilities
- Develop an age appropriate and creative lesson plan, including daily worship;
- Employ a variety of educational techniques and use age appropriate solving problems skills with all children in the classroom.
- Assist each child in improving their social competencies and building self-esteem;
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities.
- Be able to supervise children while engaging in intentional teaching and play activities.
- Ability to recognize and record significant individual and group behavior;
- Track children’s progress and report their growth to parents.
- Establish a professional relationship with parents and engage them in the center’s activities.
- Collaborate with the teaching team, and Director.
- Create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inviting classroom environment including caring for, servicing, and replacing classroom material equipment and supplies to maximize the growth and development of every child.
- Participate in professional learning activities and staff meetings.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience with preschool age children.
- Minimum of 12 core Early Childhood units.
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms – Title 22 licensing regulations.
- Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with infants and preschool students, parents and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Reliable transportation
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.03 - $26.01 per hour
Physical Requirements and Conditions of Employment
· Ability to lift small children and other objects up to 50 pounds.
· Must pass a pre-employment physical including a tuberculosis test.
· Applicants that hold a temporary permit must obtain a qualifying permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) within six (6) months or be terminated.

License/Certification:
- First Aid/ CPR Certification (Preferred)
