Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations to determine individual care needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining strict aseptic techniques.
- Manage complex medical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and ventilator management with precision and confidence.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when necessary.
- Provide education on disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, pain control strategies—including acute pain management—and health coaching to empower patients in their recovery journey.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in good standing with current state certification.
- Proven experience working with electronic health records (EMR/EHR systems), especially Epic or Cerner platforms.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise across multiple specialties such as ICU experience, emergency medicine, cardiac catheterization procedures, trauma medicine at Level I or II trauma centers, or hospital medicine.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology principles, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and infection control protocols.
- Experience performing advanced procedures including tube feeding management, ostomy care, spinal taps, dialysis support, or neonatal resuscitation procedures preferred.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with excellent patient assessment skills and critical thinking capabilities.
