Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Mechanic/Shop Manager to oversee daily shop operations and ensure the highest standards of vehicle and equipment maintenance. This role is vital in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and reliability of a diverse fleet and heavy machinery. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the shop, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC, and diesel engines
- Manage inventory levels for parts, tools, and supplies; order replacements as needed to minimize downtime
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed repairs to ensure safety standards and manufacturer specifications are met
- Oversee shop safety protocols, enforce proper use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and offering technical guidance to clients or internal teams
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation, automotive diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
- Hands-on experience with welding, soldering, fabrication, and assembly of various machinery components
- Knowledge of electrical systems including automotive electrical diagnostics and service technician practices
- Ability to operate power tools safely while performing repairs involving shocks & struts, brakes, alignments, air brakes, tires service, HVAC systems, and suspension components
- Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing a team of technicians or service staff in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills coupled with customer service aptitude to explain technical issues clearly

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
