Company and Job Summary:
M2 is a highly interactive team with an extensive history supporting government, defense, and aerospace programs. The Shipping & Receiving Specialist role manages inbound and outbound material flow, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports warehouse operations. This role is critical to ensure products and materials are received, stored, tracked, and shipped accurately while supporting project schedules and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in an evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments in a steel fabrication shop and warehouse environment.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including shipping orders, bills of lading, and related paperwork.
- Pick, package, label, and prepare materials for shipment.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Quality to track expected deliveries and receive incoming materials.
- Verify shipments, sign receiving documentation, and accurately place materials into designated inventory locations (QC Hold, Commercial, and Non-Deliverable).
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts and physical inventories, and issue materials to production as needed.
- Kit and crate materials to support efficient production and customer deliveries.
- Maintain tool inventory to ensure production readiness and inventory accuracy.
- Support the Logistics Manager and Project Managers with material movement and project deliverables.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, safety, and general housekeeping.
- Perform basic company vehicle maintenance, including checking fluid levels, changing oil, and rotating tires as needed.
- Drive company vehicles to pick up or deliver materials.
- Assist Procurement with material returns and maintain effective communication regarding incoming materials.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong shipping and receiving experience, preferably within aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or fabrication environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including warehouses, fabrication shops, laydown yards, and construction sites.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Experience and Education:
- Must be a U.S. citizen. M2 may restrict hiring to U.S. citizens when required by government contracts pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(2)(C).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two (2) years of shipping and receiving experience, preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or a related industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with inventory or ERP systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Forklift operation experience or ability to become certified.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
